TEGA is located in the city of Buenos Aires, in the neighborhood of La Boca, 2 km away from the economic, financial and business center of the city and 1km away of the port and main highways. Its industrial facilities cover a 5000 sq mt surface area. Over 53% of TEGA staff members are engineers or R&D technicians.



BACKGROUND

TEGA was founded in October 1947. It first took up the manufacture and repairing of electric machines, generators, alternators, dynamos and the like.

Soon, it devoted exclusively to the design and manufacture of lifting equipment, creating a full range of underhook materials handling equipment: electric wire rope hoists, electric and manual chain hoists, bridge cranes, goliath, monorail systems and other special material handling equipment.
- 1948 Tega manufactured the first electric chain hoist in the Argentina.
- 1950 First electric wire rope hoist.
- 1962 License agreement with Herbert Morris, UK.
- 1964 First Argentine company to manufacture modular standardized bridge cranes.
- 1973 First company to manufacture 3-wheeled bi-rail trolleys (crabs). First Argentinean company to develop and adopt the double independent brake system (Weston - Tega).
First company qualified as a supplier of the Argentine Atomic Energy Commission (C.N.E.A.).
- 1979 License and representation agreement with Verlinde SA, France.
- 1989 First Argentine company in this field using CAD for product design.
- 1992 First Argentine company in its field to open a MERCOSUR branch, in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
- 1993 Industry’s first company in Argentina incorporating CNC machining to manufacture its parts.
- 1998 First company manufacturing Stackers with a Modular Transfer Module in the World.
- 2000 Representation agreement with Stahl (Germany) and R&M (U.S.A.)
- 2001 First Argentine Materials Handling company to obtain ISO 9001 certification.
- 2002 First company in Latin America to create an Explosion-Proof Equipment Division fully devoted to this type of equipment.
- 2005 First Materials Handling company in Argentina to use ERP integrated management software.

PROVEN TRACK RECORD



Its sound technological development has enabled TEGA to supply equipment for a vast array of industries and activities:
Explosion-proof electric hoists and bridge cranes, under U.L.,V.D.E, IRAM standards.
Units for marine applications in ships and dockyards.
Units for use in atomic plants and nuclear areas, both within Argentina and in Peru and Egypt, through the C.N.E.A. (Argentine Atomic Energy Commission) and INVAP S.A.
Pioneer in the supply of equipment for automotive factory lines both in Argentina and Brazil.
Because of this technical development, many invention patents have been obtained for devices and equipment, always ensuring safety and reliability.
Every unit is projected, designed and manufactured under standards through numerical control machine processes and in compliance with I.S.O. 9.000 standards, which ensure utmost user satisfaction and safety. TEGA Research & Development, design, manufacture and customer service comply with F.E.M. (Fédération Européenne de la Manutention), C.M.A.A. (Crane Manufacturers Association of America) and A.S.M.E. (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) standards.
TEGA is an active member of the Argentine Metallurgic Industrialist Association and C.A.F.M.E.I. (Industrial Machine and Equipment Manufacturer Chamber), entity representing F.E.M. standards in Argentina.
